 About this Branch

The Arroyo Grande Library serves the Five Cities of San Luis Obispo County with a 12,000 square foot facility located in the South County Regional Center. The Library features Reference and Local History collections, large print and Spanish language collections, and a large collection of movies and books on CD. The library has a computer lab and a book nook sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

The Children’s Department includes a Spanish language collection, a Lego construction table and interactive games; and a large collection of juvenile books, books on CD, and movies. The teen area has a collection of teen books, books on CD, magazines, and an extensive graphic novel collection.


The Arroyo Grande Library serves as a Regional Library for the Southern Region of the County of San Luis Obispo Library system. The library partners with the San Luis Obispo County Genealogical Society, which has a genealogical collection at the library, Veteran's Services, HICAP, and Literacy for Life.

This library provides ongoing and unique community programming and library services for customers of all ages.

Veterans Connect

A Veterans Resource Center is located at the Arroyo Grande Library, 800 W. Branch, Arroyo Grande, CA. Call 473-7164 for more information about the center or call 781-5766 to schedule an appointment with a Veterans Outreach Counselor. HiCAP Medicare Counseling  - Call 1-800-434-0222 to schedule an in-person individual Medicare counseling appointment. 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month from 10-1PM.  (appointment required)

Local History Collection a unique collection of South County history books and high school yearbooks.

Passport services are available for those seeking to obtain a US passport, by appointment.
