The San Luis Obispo City - County Library
is offering a summer program for children, “Catch the Reading Bug”.

Program registration begins Friday, June 13th. Just bring your child in to your local branch Library to sign-up and get started with a reading log.

The goal for chapter book readers, through the 5th grade is to read 10 library books. Younger lap readers, ages 2 and up and beginning readers need to complete 20 library books to reach their goal.Rewards for completion include a paperback book, a canvas book bag, stickers, a bookmark and coupons from local businesses.

Youth, 6th grade and up, may register for the program“Metamorphosis@your library”.They will also begin with a reading log and read 10 library books to complete the program. Rewards for this group include a paperback book, a canvas book bag, a bookmark, a cell phone charm and coupons from local businesses.

We are thrilled to again provide our “Earn A Book” reward this summer.Children and youth from ages 2-18 years will receive a new paperback book provided by The Foundation for the San Luis Obispo Public Libraries, Kiwanis Club of San Luis Obispo de Tolosa,and Altrusa International Inc. of Cinco Ciudades. Local businesses are also proud to reward the children’s love of reading. Cloud Star and The Surfrider Foundation have generously provided canvas book bags with original artwork by local artist Paula Zima for all readers who reach their goal. Businesses providing coupons in each book bag include The Paso Robles Children's Museum, Chili's, Denny's, HomeTown Buffet, In-N-Out Burger,and LegoLand.
