Mission of the Foundation |
| |
| "We believe in our Community. The Foundation for
San Luis Obispo County Public Libraries seeks to raise awareness
and monies to strengthen our public libraries. We believe that strong
libraries help build, nourish and support our community by providing
a rich environment for learning and appreciation of knowledge. A
great library system benefits everyone in the county." |
| |
| Today the San Luis Obispo County Library system
operates 15 branches and a bookmobile serving an urban population
of over 172,000 residents. Because the Library's potential user
base is everyone in the County, specialized services are needed
for many different groups, including seniors, children, families,
Spanish speakers and people with disabilities. Most especially,
the Library needs to instill in children a love of reading and help
them develop the skills needed for a lifetime of learning. |

Donations
Your donations will help the SLO City-County Libraries provide new books and other library materials. Any public library's reputation is built upon the amount, currency, and pertinency of its book/materials collection. Unfortunately, our library spends less than half of similar sized-public libraries in the U.S. on books and materials. Please help us help others in this important effort.
Thank you,
