Book Club in a Box Guidlines

Borrowing Guidelines:

• Any Cardholder in good standing of the San Luis Obispo County Library System may borrow a Book Club in a Box kit.
• Requests for kits are made through the San Luis Obispo City Library Reference Desk by phone (781-5989) or in person. Please reserve your kit at least one day in advance.
• Kits are picked up at the Reference Desk of the San Luis Obispo City Library, 995 Palm Street.
• The kit will be checked out on the library card of the person picking up the box. That person is responsible for the return of the box and all of its contents.
• The loan period is 6 weeks. If the kit you want is checked out you can request to be put on a hold list for the title.
• No more than 1 kit may be borrowed at a time by a cardholder. There are no renewals on the kits.

Returning the Boxes:

• Check contents before returning the box.
• Boxes must be returned to the Reference Desk at the San Luis Obispo City Library.
• Late fees are $1.00 per day.
• Replacement cost of an entire Book Club in a Box kit is $225.00.
• The replacement charge for individual items in the kit will include actual cost of the item and a processing fee.
